This summer, David Starns Insurance would be honored to donate $10 in your name to provide food to children and families experiencing hunger in Kansas City.
Every year, thousands of children across the nation experience “summer hunger”. Many children in the U.S. rely on school-provided free and reduced lunches as their main source of nutrition. When school is out for summer, most of these students are left without resources and end up facing summer hunger.
David Starns Insurance has partnered with Harvesters to fight summer hunger this season. Harvesters’ is a nonprofit and regional food bank serving a 26-county area of northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. Harvesters’ mission is to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow. They provide food and related household products to more than 620 not-for-profit agencies including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes and others. They also offer education programs to increase community awareness of hunger and teach about good nutrition.
“Kansas City is facing a food insecurity issue that is even greater than the national average. Families and children in our area need food more than ever. We are grateful to be able to do our part to help fight summer hunger.” says David Starns, agency owner.
Currently, Harvesters’ is facing a greater need than ever before. With every $1 donated they are able to provide three meals. This is where you can help. Simply recommend a friend or family member to our agency for a quote and we will donate $10 on your behalf.
